Lamp Making Class April 3, 2025

Make a complete lamp from start to finish. 

You will:

• Learn the basics of lampshade making.
• Build and wire your lamp.
• Learn about basic tools used to work on lamps and make lampshades.
• Discuss ways to further embellish your lamp at home.

Difficult Creek Antiques will provide kits and instruction to build your lamp. 

Please pick and bring fabric to cover your lampshade.

We strongly recommend cotton quilting fabric for your lampshade.  Cotton quilting fabric is easy to work with, irons nicely, and is reasonably priced. 

For the Small lamp, 15” tall,  you will need a piece of fabric 24 x 24"

For the Tall lamp, 29.25” tall, you will need a piece of fabric 36 x 36” or one yard.

For an addition $5, paid at the class, upgrade to our TALL lamp kit (you'll need 1 yard of fabric)!

We have a small selection of cottons here in our shop.  You will find a large selection of cotton quilting fabric in a booth inside at the Town of Halifax Farmer’s Market.
